Nursery Deputy Manager (Full-Time / Term-Time Options)

About the Role

Action Staffing Ltd is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Ofsted-registered nursery in Chafford Hundred, Grays (RM16) for two Deputy Manager positions.

Your Responsibilities

As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the daily running of the nursery:

• Assist the Nursery Manager in leading a high-quality early years setting and ensuring outstanding care and education in line with the EYFS framework
• Support staff across all rooms, maintaining high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted compliance
• Lead, mentor and motivate the nursery team, supporting staff development through supervision and coaching
• Confidently step in as acting manager when required
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers
• Oversee operational duties such as rotas and staffing
• Ensure children receive the highest standard of care and learning experiences

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• A recognised Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years or Childcare
• Strong experience in a senior nursery role such as Room Leader or Third in Charge
• Solid understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures, child development, and Ofsted requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
• A positive, proactive, and professional approach with a genuine passion for early years education

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: Competitive salary based on experience
• Working Patterns Available:
  • Full-Time (45 Hours per week)
  • Term-Time Only (32.5 Hours per week)
