Action Staffing Ltd is delighted to recruit on behalf of a welcoming and well-established day nursery based at Sham Farm, Eridge Green, Tunbridge Wells (TN3) for a Room Leader / Junior Deputy Manager.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Level 3 Early Years professional who is ready to develop into a Deputy Nursery Manager within approximately 12 months. Your Responsibilities

This role is approximately 80% room-based (leading the Over 2's Room) and 20% operational leadership:

• Lead the Over 2's Room and provide outstanding care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
• Lead and motivate room practitioners, planning engaging learning experiences
• Monitor children's development and maintain accurate records
• Support the nursery's leadership team with operational responsibilities as Junior Deputy Manager
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health, safety, and welfare
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers
• Prepare and develop to progress into a full Deputy Nursery Manager role

Requirements

The successful candidate must have:

• A recognised Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification
• Previous experience working in a senior nursery position, ideally as a Room Leader or Senior Nursery Practitioner
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures, child development, and Ofsted requirements
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills
• Driving requirement: Applicants must have access to their own vehicle and be able to drive, as there is no public transport available to the rural setting

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £28,500 to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Schedule: 4 days per week (Offering an excellent work-life balance)
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
