Your Responsibilities

As the Nursery Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery:

• Promote outstanding childcare through effective planning, assessments, and reflective practice across the setting
• Lead by example, helping create a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can thrive
• Support and motivate the nursery team through coaching, mentoring, supervision meetings, and appraisals
• Confidently step into the role of Acting Manager in the Nursery Manager's absence, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted, EYFS, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers
• Assist with staffing rotas, administrative duties, and maintain statutory staff-to-child ratios

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• A recognised Level 3 Early Years qualification or above (highly desirable)
• Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting in a senior position
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding procedures, child development, and Ofsted requirements
• Confident communication skills with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding childcare

An Enhanced DBS check and the right to work in the UK will be required before employment.

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: Starting from £36,000 per annum
