Nursery Deputy Manager (Flexible Morning or Afternoon Shifts)

Action Staffing Ltd is currently recruiting a dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager on behalf of a premier early years setting in Hammersmith, London (W14).

This role is unique because it offers a fantastic work-life balance through two fixed, permanent shift patterns. You can choose the schedule that works best for you: either Mornings (7:30 AM – 1:30 PM) or Afternoons (12:30 PM – 6:30 PM). As a calm and professional leader, you will split your time beautifully between administrative office management and supportive room-based practice.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will balance administrative management with room practice:

• Effectively manage your time between administrative office duties and supporting early years practitioners within the rooms
• Take an active lead in high-level childcare responsibilities, including Safeguarding (DSL) regulations and Special Educational Needs (SENCO) support, particularly during afternoon sessions
• Oversee daily nursery operations and help plan creative, stimulating activities based on the EYFS framework
• Act as a senior point of contact for families, building strong relationships with parents, carers, and external local authority agencies
• Ensure the setting consistently meets Ofsted regulations, child protection standards, and strict health and safety protocols

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A recognized Level 3 Childcare / Early Years Qualification or higher (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or a Degree in Early Childhood Studies)
• A minimum of 3 or more years of continuous experience in a senior childcare role (such as Nursery Room Leader, Senior Practitioner, or Third-in-Charge)
• Solid, practical knowledge of the statutory EYFS framework, child development tracking, and local authority safeguarding procedures
• Strong team management skills, excellent communication, a friendly demeanor, and a composed leadership style

A clean Enhanced DBS check is mandatory before starting.

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (dependent on skills and experience)
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Permanent Shifts Available:
  • Mornings: 07:30 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Afternoons: 12:30 PM – 6:30 PM
