Action Staffing Ltd is currently recruiting for two key permanent positions on behalf of a wonderful, high-quality rural day nursery located in Plummers Plain, Horsham (RH13):

• 1 x Preschool Room Leader (Pre-School, 3–5 years old)
• 1 x Full-Time Toddler Practitioner (Toddlers, 14 months – 2 years old)

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will deliver high-quality early years care tailored to your room:

• Deliver high-quality, creative, and age-appropriate learning experiences based on the EYFS framework
• Supervise, mentor, and guide room practitioners (for Room Leader role), ensuring routines run seamlessly
• Oversee the progress of a dedicated group of key children, tracking developmental milestones and keeping detailed observation records
• Maintain open, welcoming, and professional relationships with parents and carers
• Ensure premium health, safety, and hygiene standards, adhering strictly to Ofsted guidelines and safeguarding policies

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A recognized Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years)
• Proven experience working as a qualified practitioner in a registered nursery (prior senior experience required for Room Leader)
• Deep knowledge of the statutory EYFS framework and an enthusiastic, team-focused work ethic
• Comfortable commuting to a rural location; having a driving license and own vehicle is highly recommended (free onsite parking provided)

Salary & Working Hours

• Preschool Room Leader Salary: £29,000 – £31,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Toddler Practitioner Salary: £27,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• Schedule: Compressed 4-day or 4.5-day working week options
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Paid Leave: 30 days annual holiday PLUS 5 days of paid sick leave per year
• Daily Perks: Free nutritious home-cooked meals daily; full 45-min lunch break plus 15-min rest break
