Nursery Room Leader (Full-Time | 4-Day Compressed Week)

About the Role

Are you an experienced Early Years Educator looking for a senior leadership role that gives you a long weekend every single week?

Action Staffing Ltd is currently recruiting a dedicated Full-Time Nursery Room Leader on behalf of a beautiful early years setting located in London SE8.

This permanent position offers a stable 37-hour contract spread across just 4 days per week (7:45 AM – 6:00 PM), providing the perfect work-life balance without compromising your full-time career goals.

Your Responsibilities

As a Room Leader, you will take total ownership of your designated room:

• Oversee the daily running of the room, coordinating staff rotas and guiding junior team members
• Lead the design and delivery of a creative, stimulating curriculum rooted in the EYFS framework
• Manage the room's key person allocations, ensuring accurate developmental logs and learning journeys
• Act as the primary senior contact for families within the room, delivering clear daily progress updates
• Maintain exceptional safety and cleanliness standards throughout the room in full compliance with Ofsted guidelines

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A recognized Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/Early Years)
• Proven experience working as a Nursery Room Leader, or a senior practitioner ready to step up
• Thorough, practical understanding of child development tracking, the statutory EYFS framework, and positive behavior guidance
• Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a calm, reassuring approach

A clean Enhanced DBS check is required before starting.

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: Highly competitive salary package dependent on skills and experience
• Hours: 37 hours per week
• Schedule: 4 days per week (7:45 AM – 6:00 PM) with a consistent 3-day weekend every week!
