Your Responsibilities

As Deputy Manager, you will split your time between office-based management and room practice:

• Effectively manage time between administrative office duties and supporting staff/children within the rooms
• Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and SENCO, taking particular lead on these areas during afternoon sessions
• Help plan and implement creative activities based on Montessori and EYFS principles to meet each child’s individual needs
• Ensure the setting consistently meets Ofsted, health & safety, and safeguarding regulations
• Build professional partnerships with parents, carers, and external local agencies

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• A recognized Level 3 Childcare Qualification or higher
• 3–4 years of experience in a Senior Nursery role (Room Leader or Third in Charge) is essential
• Previous experience working within a "Good" or "Outstanding" Ofsted setting
• Expert knowledge of child development, strong team management skills, and a friendly, composed demeanor

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this DSL-level role.

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (depending on experience)
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Flexible Shifts Available:
  • Mornings: 07:30 – 13:30
  • Afternoons: 12:30 – 18:30
