Nursery Manager | Founding Manager for New Setting

About the Role

Are you a visionary Early Years Manager ready to launch a brand-new setting in South East London?

Action Staffing Ltd is seeking a dynamic, experienced Nursery Manager (Founding Manager) to take the helm of a newly opened day nursery in Peckham / Southwark, London (SE15).

As the founding manager, you will have total autonomy to shape the nursery’s identity, build your own team, implement high-quality EYFS standards, and lead the setting toward an Ofsted "Outstanding" rating.

Your Responsibilities

In this founding leadership role, you will oversee all nursery operations:

• Oversee the final stages of the opening, including room setups, resource procurement, and local marketing
• Manage all operational and commercial aspects of the nursery, including budgets and occupancy targets
• Recruit, induct, and inspire a brand-new team of Early Years Educators, fostering a high-performance culture
• Ensure 100% compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Safeguarding, and health & safety legislation
• Build strong, long-term partnerships with families to establish the nursery as the first choice for childcare in SE15

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification (Level 5, Degree in Early Years, or EYTS/QTS highly preferred)
• Proven track record as a Nursery Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager in a large-scale setting
• Demonstrable history of achieving high-grade Ofsted inspection results and maintaining rigorous compliance
• Strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and ability to lead a team through a new launch

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £39,000 – £43,000 per annum (depending on experience and credentials)
• Bonus: Performance-related launch incentives tied to occupancy and quality targets
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
• Total autonomy to build a setting's legacy from the ground up in a state-of-the-art facility
