Action Staffing Ltd is recruiting a Deputy Nursery Manager for a newly opened day nursery in Peckham / Southwark, London (SE15).

This is a prestigious opportunity to join a fresh management team and help build an elite childcare setting from the ground up, mentoring a brand-new team of practitioners and establishing "Outstanding" standards from day one.

Your Responsibilities

As Deputy Manager in this brand new setting, you will:

• Support the Nursery Manager in daily operations, ensuring the setting runs smoothly and safely
• Assist in the recruitment, induction, and ongoing mentoring of a new team of Early Years Educators
• Oversee the implementation of a creative and high-standard EYFS curriculum across all rooms
• Ensure the setting is fully compliant with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding protocols, and health and safety requirements
• Lead the way in building strong, trusting relationships with new families and the local community

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Minimum Level 3 Childcare Qualification (Level 5, Early Years Degree, or EYTS is highly preferred)
• Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or an experienced Room Leader in a high-capacity nursery
• Expert understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Safeguarding, and Safer Recruitment practices
• Exceptional leadership qualities, a "can-do" attitude, and ability to inspire a new team

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
