Nursery Manager (Early Years Leadership)

About the Role

Action Staffing Ltd is exclusively recruiting for a high-level Nursery Manager (Early Years Leadership) to lead a growing, premium early years setting in Woodley, Reading (RG5).

This is one of the most competitive management packages in the Berkshire region, designed for a high-performing leader capable of driving EYFS excellence and nursery growth.

We are looking for an ambitious Deputy Manager ready for a step-up or an established Nursery Manager who thrives on autonomy, staff development, and achieving "Outstanding" Ofsted outcomes.

Your Responsibilities

As the lead for this setting, you will work closely with the directors to oversee:

• Day-to-day management of a high-capacity nursery, ensuring seamless operations and high-quality care
• Leading the setting through inspections and maintaining 100% compliance with EYFS and Safeguarding statutory frameworks
• Driving nursery occupancy through local marketing and building elite parent partnerships
• Mentoring, coaching, and supervising a dedicated team of Nursery Practitioners and Room Leaders
• Managing budgets, resources, and staffing ratios to ensure a sustainable and profitable setting

Requirements

What we are looking for:

• Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Childcare (Level 5, Level 6, or EYTS/QTS is highly desirable)
• Proven track record in a senior leadership role (Nursery Manager or Senior Deputy)
• Deep understanding of Ofsted inspection cycles, SEND requirements, and Safer Recruitment
• Strong business acumen, excellent communication, and passion for early years pedagogy

Salary & Working Hours

• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Performance Bonuses
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
