About the Role

Action Staffing Ltd is currently representing a prestigious 57-place private day nursery in Leytonstone, East London (E11). We are looking for an experienced Nursery Deputy Manager with SENCo expertise to join their management team.

This position offers the security of working for a successful, well-known group of three nurseries, overseeing 20+ staff and ensuring high standards across the setting.

Your Responsibilities

As Deputy Manager, your duties will include:

  • Act as the nursery’s SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), leading SEN support across the setting
  • Manage staff rotas, ratios, and daily logistics for a busy 57-place setting
  • Mentor and lead a team of over 20 staff, including bank staff and kitchen teams
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure the safety and welfare of all children
  • Work flexibly both room-based and supernumerary, providing leadership where needed

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Deputy Manager or Assistant Manager
  • Proven experience as a SENCo or strong knowledge of SEN processes is essential
  • Experience working in a setting larger than 30 places (medium-to-large nursery experience required)
  • Level 3 NVQ/CACHE Diploma in Early Years (or higher), plus Paediatric First Aid (PFA)
